Ear instruments and hearing - appliances. - An ear cap has a bowlike frame 2 of elastic material such as celluloid, adapted to be applied to the back side of the ear conch, and a fabric cover 3 connected to the outer edge of the frame and extending over the whole of the ear. The ends of the frame are connected by a string 4, which pulls the ends towards each other so that the frame normally maintains the shape shown in Fig. 2, but after engagement over the ear may be pressed into and retains the shape shown in Fig. 3. The cover 3, and a cover 2 over the frame, may be of fleshcoloured silk. The cap may be used for muffling sound, when the cover 3 may be of leather; for holding wadding and medicaments for treating ear ailments; or for holding aids for partially-deaf persons.
