Abstract

A reel holder assembly comprises a paperboard base 3 , a reel housing 4 with a wall 40 adhered to the base 3 , a bottom plate 44 disposed between opposed side walls 42, mounting a cutter 6 and a serrated plate 441 and also adhered to the base 3 , and a crossbar 411 on which a cover 5 is pivotally mounted , and an opening 43 through which tape from the reel 7 extends to the cutter 6. The cover 5 prevents inadvertent contact with the sharp cutter.

Description

TAPE HOLDER ASSEMBLY The invention relates to a tape holder assembly. More particularly a the invention relates to a tape holder assembly which has a blade separated from a paperboard.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION Referring to Figures 1 and 1A, a known tape holder device has a paperboard 3 with a triangular hole 31, a seat 21 adhered on the paperboard 3, a cutting device 100 connecting the seat 21, and a wheelshaped tape holder 2 disposed on the seat 21. The wheel-shaped tape holder 2 has a hollow frame 22 with a plurality of openings 221. The cutting device 100 has a positioning plate 101 and a blade 102. A coiled plastic tape 10 which has a metal wire 11 in the plastic tape 10 is placed in the wheel-shaped tape holder 2. One end of the plastic tape 10 is pulled out from one opening 221 and inserted through the blade 102. The blade 102 can cut the plastic tape 10. Since the sharp edge of the blade 102 faces the outer periphery of the paperboard 3, the blade may hurt the user.
Since the blade 102 is supported by the paperboard 3 only, the paperboard .
3 may be twisted if the user does not apply the blade 102 properly.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION An object of the invention is to provide a tape holder assembly which can position a cutting device therein securely. -~ Accordingly, the invention provides a tape holder assembly comprising: a paperboard; a cover having two position blocks positioned on a rear edge of said cover and a groove formed on each of said corresponding positioning blocks; a hollow tape holder having a main body, an upper casing disposed on a top of said main body, a crossbar crossing two inner sides of said main body, a bottom plate disposed in a front of said main body, two opposite lateral flanges extending upward from two lateral edges of said bottom plate to connect said main body and said bottom plate, a cutting device disposed on a middle portion of said bottom plate, and a serrated plate disposed on a front edge of said bottom plate; an opening defined by said main body, said upper casing, said lateral flanges, and said bottom plate; a coiled tape inserted in an interior of said hollow tape holder; a bottom of said main body adhered on said paperboard; a bottom of said bottom plate adhered on said paperboard; said crossbar inserted in said grooves to position said positioning blocks on said crossbar pivotally; said rear edge of said cover adjacent to a front edge of said upper casing; and said cover covering said bottom plate and said cutting device.
A tape holder assembly according to the invention comprises a paperboard with a hole (e.g. a triangular hole), a hollow tape holder adhered on the paperboard, and a cover disposed on the hollow tape holder. Two positioning blocks are positioned on a rear edge of the cover.
A groove is formed on each of the corresponding positioning blocks. The hollow tape holder has a main body, an upper casing disposed on a top of the main body, a crossbar crossing two inner sides of the main body, a bottom plate disposed in a front of the main body, two opposite lateral flanges extending upward from two lateral edges of the bottom plate to connect the main body and the bottom plate, a cutting device disposed on a middle portion of the bottom plate, and a serrated plate disposed on a front edge of the bottom plate. An opening is defined by the main body, the upper casing, the lateral flanges, and the bottom plate. A coiled tape is inserted in an interior of the hollow tape holder. A bottom of the main body is adhered on the paperboard. A bottom of the bottom plate is adhered on the paperboard. The crossbar is inserted in the grooves to position the positioning blocks on the crossbar pivotally. The rear edge of the cover abuts a front edge of the upper casing. The cover covers the bottom plate and the cutting device.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS Figure 1 is a sectional view of a plastic tape with a metal wire therein; Figure 1A is a perspective assembly view of a tape holder device of the prior art; Figure 2 is a perspective exploded view of a tape holder assembly of a preferred embodiment in accordance with the invention; Figure 2A is a perspective view of a cover; Figure 3 is a perspective assembly view of Figure 2; and Figure 3A is a sectional view of Figure 3.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION Referring to Figures 2, 3 and 3A first, a tape holder assembly in accordance with one embodiment of the invention comprises a paperboard 3' with a triangular hole 31', a hollow tape holder 4 adhered on the paperboard 3', and a cover 5 disposed on the hollow tape holder 4. A pattern 52 is formed on the upper surface of the cover 5. Two positioning blocks 51 are positioned on a rear edge of the cover 5 (as shown in Figure 2A). A groove 511 is formed on each of the corresponding positioning blocks 51 (as shown in Figure 2A). The hollow tape holder 4 has a main body 40, an upper casing 41 disposed on a top of the main body 40, a plurality of curved vanes 413 disposed at a periphery of the main body 40, a crossbar 411 crossing two inner sides of the main body 40, a bottom plate 44 disposed in a front of the main body 40, two opposite lateral flanges 42 extending upward from two lateral edges of the bottom plate 44 to connect the main body 40 and the bottom plate 44, a cutting device 6 disposed on a middle portion of the bottom plate 44, and a serrated plate 411 disposed on a front edge of the bottom plate 44. An opening 43 is defined by the main body 40, the upper casing 41, the lateral flanges 42, and the bottom plate 44. A cartoon pattern 412 is formed on the upper surface of the upper casing 41. A coiled tape 1 is inserted in an interior of the hollow tape holder 4. A bottom of the main body 40 is adhered on the paperboard 3'. The crossbar 411 is inserted in the grooves 511 to position the positioning blocks 51 on the crossbar 411 pivotally. The rear edge of the cover 5 abuts a front edge of the upper casing 41. The cover 5 covers the bottom plate 44 and the cutting device 6. One end of the tape 1 is pulled out from the opening 43 and inserted through the cutting device 6. The cutting device 6 can cut the tape 1. Thus the cutting device 6 is protected by the cover 5.
The invention is not limited to the above embodiment but various modifications thereof may be made. Further, various changes in form and detail may be made without departing from the scope of the invention.

Claims (4)

1. A tape holder assembly comprising: a paperboard; a cover having two position blocks positioned on a rear edge of said cover and a groove formed on each of said corresponding positioning blocks; a hollow tape holder having a main body, an upper casing disposed on a top of said main body, a crossbar crossing two inner sides of said main body, a bottom plate disposed in a front of said main body, two opposite lateral flanges extending upward from two lateral edges of said bottom plate to connect said main body and said bottom plate, a cutting device disposed on a middle portion of said bottom plate, and a serrated plate disposed on a front edge of said bottom plate; an opening defined by said main body, said upper casing, said lateral flanges, and said bottom plate; a coiled tape inserted in an interior of said hollow tape holder; a bottom of said main body adhered on said paperboard; a bottom of said bottom plate adhered on said paperboard; said crossbar inserted in said grooves to position said positioning blocks on said crossbar pivotally; said rear edge of said cover adjacent to a front edge of said upper casing; and said cover covering said bottom plate and said cutting device.
2. A tape holder assembly as claimed in Claim 1, wherein a pattern is formed on an upper surface of said cover.
3. A tape holder assembly as claimed in Claim 1, wherein a cartoon pattern is formed on an upper surface of said upper casing.
4. A tape holder assembly substantially as described herein with reference to the accompanying drawings Figures 2, 2A, 3 and 3A.
