Abstract

The present invention relates to a hat in which the various parts of the hat (crown, brim, peak etc.) can be easily and quickly separated and interchanged since they are joined together by pairs of adhesive bands 6 or tapes (or equivalent means) pressed together and which can be simply pulled apart. These bands are applied at the base of the crown on the one side, and along the edge of the brim, on the other side. <IMAGE>

Description

SPECIFICATION A hat of easily separable and interchangeable parts The present Application for an Industrial Patent has for its object to provide a new and original method of manufacturing the traditional hat, the parts of which, according to our invention, are easily separated and interchangeable thus transforming either partially or completely the hat so that it can be adapted to any specific requirement.
Besides the above potential, the fact that the parts can be easily dismantled and rejoined means there is a second advantage since the worn or soiled parts can be replaced whereas with the normal method of manufacture the hat is no longer of use.
The accompanying drawings are for a clearer illustration and exemplify only one embodiment of the instant invention, wherein Fig. 1 illustrates a man's hat consisting of: - a special type of crown (1); -a brim (2); - another type of brim (3); -apeak(4); - a brim with a lifted back edge (5).
The main feature of the invention is that it has eliminated all the kinds of seams and permanent joining agents normally used when manufacturing headwear. The joining of the parts, according to the chosen method, is now carried out by the use of pairs of adhesive bands which are pressed together and can therefore be easily and quickly pulled apart.
Referrring now to the accompanying drawings, these adhesive bands (6) are sewn or glued along the outer bottom edge of the crown, on the one side, and along the whole inner edge of the brim, on the other side, in such a way that the seam is easily formed by fitting the brim externally to the crown against the adhesive band.
A second embodiment, equally as effective, wherein the adhesive bands can be applied respectively to the inside of the crown and to the outside of the brim, means that the brim will be partially inside the crown itself.
It is evident that various types of brims and peaks can be applied to the same crown and likewise the same brim or peak can be used with various types of crowns.
Obviously, the adhesive bands (6) in the chosen method may be substituted by zips, poppers or the like without altering the basic idea of this invention which consists essentially of a method of manufacturing hats, in general, and in such a way that the parts are easily separated and interchangeable.
1. A new system of manufacturing a hat or any kind of headwear, wherein the parts of the same (crown, brim, peak) are easily and quickly separated and interchanged since they are joined together by pairs of adhesive bands or tapes (or equivalent means) pressed together and which can be simply pulled apart. These bands are applied at the base of the crown, on the one side, and along the edge of the brim on the other side.
