Abstract

14,997. Linen Thread Co., and Barbour, J. M. July 2. Loom warp beams; cloth beams ; let-off motions.-In hand and other looms, the warp beam is formed by an aggregation of spools or bobbins. Each spool has a plurality of threads or yarn wound on it in parallel relation. Theends of the threads are knotted together with the knot placed in the cavity c, Fig. 2, and the threads are led off through one of the grooves d. Paper or other clips are secured to full spools to prevent accidental unwinding. The spools are placed on the spindle i, Fig. 5, so that adjacent spools unwind from opposite sides, the thread being led over a guide-roller k to the cloth beam, preferably provided with cavities similar to those in the spools to receive the ends of the threads. To regulate the rotation of the spools, a pressure plate n acted on by a spring p is provided. A screw q is also provided to increase the pressure. One end of the spindle i is fitted into the side bar j ; the other is inserted in a notch r, Fig. 9, and is secured by an eccentrically pivoted plate s, held in place by a spring u.
