Abstract

18,231. Hoyle, W. H., and Barker, T. Sept. 9. Dust, confining and expelling on generation.-A suction flue provided for receiving a n d carrying away broken ends in spinning machines also serves to ventilate the machine and remove fluff and fly, the waste being thus collected without handling and delivered to a cyclone or tornado, perforated drums, or similar depositing or collecting apparatus. The flue a, in which the current is induced by fan, is arranged between the rollers b and thread guides c with apertures a<1> below each thread, and is particularly applicable to the machine described in Specifications Nos. 6575 and 6576, A.D. 1903, [Abridgment Class Spinning]. The flue may be made in sections, and may be connected to secondary flues arranged at each side of a double-sided spinning-machine.
