Abstract
198,845. Hollis, T., (trading as Mutlow & Co., T.). March 30, 1922. Bearings.-The bearings of weighing machines are made separately of hardened steel &c. so that they may be driven into position within their supporting members. The bearings are interchangeable so as to be readily renewable. As applied to the pan supports of a counter scale the bearing 7, Fig. 2, is slightly tapered and is driven into its support from the outside of the stirrup 9, a pivoted cover plate 15 being afterwards applied to retain the bearing in place. The centre support for the beam is similarly provided with a bearing which is retained by a plate 17, Fig. 3, with the addition of a screw 18.
