Abstract

1531628 Moulding glass WATER POTING INGENIEURBURO GmbH & CO KG 26 Nov 1976 [2 Dec 1975] 49536/76 Heading C1M [Also in Division B5] A flashless article is moulded in a multi-part mould having axially extending separating seams by relatively oscillating the moulding and the mould about the axis of the mould during the moulding operation. Quoted moulding operations are compression or blowing and quoted working materials are glass or thermoplastics. Only in that part of the mould with an axial seam need there be relative oscillation. In the preferred embodiment, a glass vase 5 is compression moulded between a punch 4 and an axially split mould 2 and a relative oscillation over a 10 degree arc is set up between the vase and the mould. If the lower part of the vase is to have a pattern imparted to it by the lower half 2a of the mould then the mould is split along a horizontal plane and relative oscillation is effected only in the region of the upper half 2b of the mould.
