Abstract
1514962 Aerials I TAKEYASU 19 Aug 1975 [19 Aug 1974] 17842/75 Heading H4A A telescopic rod antenna comprises tubular sections 1c, 1d &c. of glass fibre reinforced synthetic resin, e.g. polypropylene or polyethylene, having their inner and outer surfaces coated with conducting material 2 which may be a metal foil. An anticorrosion material 3 may be applied to the outer surface of the tubular members, except in the region x where they pass inside an adjacent member. The antenna may be made suitable for extension by fluid pressure by introducing a resilient seal 4 (e.g. of rubber or plastics material) at each joint between tubular members. The seal engaged at the end of the first member (1a, Fig. 1, not shown) is without a hole 5 (Fig. 5, not shown).
