Abstract
1436011 Magnetic storage arrangements INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS MACHINES CORP 21 May 1973 [29 Aug 1972] 24041/73 Heading H3B The magnetic medium used in a magnetic bubble device is an amorphous or substantially amorphous material having uniaxial magnetic anisotropy. Suitable materials mentioned are elements of the 4f (rare earth), 5f (actinide) or 3d (iron group) series of the Periodic Table, Mn, Cr, V, Pd, Gd-Co, Gd-Fe, Y-Co or Fa-Co, which may be made in film form by evaporation or sputtering. The anisotropy may be produced by one or more of pair ordering, shape anisotropy or stress induced anisotropy. The medium may contain one or more of O, N, C and P and may be provided as a sheet on a substrate such as Si, a metal or an insulation.
