Abstract

1491776 Thiadiazoles PFIZER Ltd 8 Sept 1976 [18 Sept 1975] 38295/75 Heading C2C Thiadiazoles are prepared by the following route: (R = C 1-6 alkyl or alkoxy, C 3-6 cycloalkyl, phenoxy or phenyl (C 1-6 alkyl) in which the ring may be substituted by F, Cl, Br, CF 3 or SO 2 N (C 1-4 alkyl)2), optionally followed by conversion to an alkali metal salt. The preparation of the thione starting materials and 3-chloro, 4-fluoro and 4-dimethylsulphamoylphenylacethydrazide is described. The above compounds are cerebral vasodilators, and some of them are anticonvulsants. They may be administered in the form of pharmaceutical preparations containing them in association with a carrier.
