Abstract

1478368 Two-part coupling AMP Inc 9 Aug 1974 [14 Sept 1973] 35188/74 Heading H2E An electrical connector 10 comprises a generally U-shaped sheet metal spring 11 with rolled over end portions, supporting a separate flexible circuit 14 disposed about the spring and held taut by a plastics elongate nut 12, the flat flexible circuit having conductors 43, 44 extending from the mouth of the spring which make contact between the conductors of a daughter board 68 and those of a mother board 60 on which the spring is mounted. The arms of the spring which are rolled over outwardly provide two cylindrical ears (27, Fig. 1, not shown) containing 2 cams 17 with eccentric pins 50. The cams 17 are used to open the mouth to receive the daughter board. The connector is held in place by screws 13 screwed into the nut 12 and L-shaped members (18, Fig. 2, not shown) at both ends of the spring support the cams on the mother board.
