Abstract

1461029 Mounting open end spinning units ZINSER TEXTILMASCHINEN GmbH 16 July 1975 [16 July 1974] 29887/75 Headings D1D and D1N In an open-end spinning machine the spinning rotor, fibre feed and fiber separating rollers are located in a housing 2 from which their shafts 5, 6 project to engage drive members, the housing being arranged to slide on an upright 9, one end of which is fixed in a machine bed 1, members being provided on the housing and the upright to form a releasable locking device. The locking device is provided by a ring 16 which forms a bayonet engagement with a cross pin 15 in the upright these maintain the housing in the operating position, Fig. 4, with the shafts 5, 6 engaging drive belts 7, 8. To disengage drive and apply brakes 39, 40 a piston/cylinder 12/13 depresses the housing 2 against a spring 20 to an extent limited by a slot 23 in a member 22 which engages a bolt 24 on the housing. In the lowered position telescopic tubes 26, 27 which convey compressed air and suction for cleaning purposes remain in engagement with the machine bed 1. By disengaging the bayonet lock 15, 16 the housing can be lowered to a position shown in Fig. 6 whereby access is available to drive belts 7, 8. The lower position is defined by a bent end 41 of the member 22 which engages pin 15. The end can be resiliently pulled aside by a handle 42 to completely remove the housing. A similar bent end 21 can be employed as an alternative to the bayonet lock.
