Abstract

1442329 Static homogeniser SVENSKA ROTOR MASKINER AB 3 July 1973 [11 Aug 1972] 37557/72 Heading B1C In a grating 16, for insertion in a conduit for homogenizing a liquid or gas flow in said conduit, having parallel rows of passages 18 extending between its opposite faces, ends of the passages serving as outlets are inclined to normals to the grating (e.g. at 10‹-40‹) and, to promote turbulence and hence homogenization of the flow downstream of the grating, said ends of adjacent rows are inclined in opposite senses. As shown in Fig. 1, a segment-shaped grating 16 is held, as by brackets or transverse rods, in a hot gas supply conduit of an air preheater having a rotatable matrix disposed in a cylindrical housing 10. A gap 20 is provided around the grating to prevent peripheral passage blockage. Fig. 3 illustrates a method of manufacture of the grating from bars 22, 24 of sheet material. A conduit may have disposed therein two or more spaced and serially disposed gratings deflecting the fluid in different directions. For Figures see next column
