Abstract

1366751 Screw feed for pneumatic conveyer B DUTCHYN 2 May 1973 [3 May 1972] 20642/72 Heading B8A Bulk material fed by a screw conveyer is discharged into an air blast pipe below the conveyer via a turbulence chamber housing at least one vane projecting into the air blast pipe and rotating in the direction of travel of the air, the air blast pipe being provided with a baffle on its wall adjacent the turbulence chamber slightly upstream of the connection between tubulence chamber and air blast pipe. In the Figure, screw 12 rotates on shaft 13, driven by hydraulic motor 15. The screw is placed in a heap of material which is thus conveyed along the screw and into air blast pipe 19 via turbulence chamber 17 provided with vanes 18, a baffle 21 on air blast pipe 19 upstraem of the junction with the turbulence chamber assisting the prevention of air being blown back into the screw.
