Abstract
1357105 Method of constructing buildings G A BEARD 7 July 1971 [8 July 1970] 33082/ 70 Headings E1A and E1S In a method of constructing a building from prefabricated wall panels consisting of aligning opposite walls by way of joists bridging same, each joist consists of two sections 10, 12 and each section has grooves 18, 20 to accommodate angle brackets for attachment to upper and lower wall panels r respectively and apertures 14, 16. When the joist sections are secured to the wall panels and interconnected together by mild steel bars passed through the apertures 16 to form a ring beam, the overlapping inner ends of each joist are tensioned by introducing bars into the apertures 14 and drawing the sections together by a chain wrench whereupon the joint sections are nailed or bolted together. The apertures 16 may be dispensed with whereupon the angle brackets are replaced by angle iron ring beams. For minor details of ring beams, and method of erection, use of tie-rods and connections between parts the specification should be referred to.
