Abstract

1,132,384. Interior rear - view mirrors. DESMO Ltd. 6 July, 1967 [6 April, 1966], No. 15223/66. Heading B7J. A mounting for the head of a vehicle interior rear-view mirror comprises a bracket 11, formed of a synthetic resin and adapted to be screwed to the vehicle, and a pair of C-section gripping portions 18 having mouths 19 and separated by an opening 20, the gripping portions being adapted to frictionally receive a transverse rod 12 of a mounting arm 10. The arm 10 is free to pivot about the axis of rod 12 until it contacts edge 21 or 24 whence the rod will be sprung from the portions 18. The rod may be cylindrical or oval in cross-section, extend only from one side of arm 10 or form part of a loop of the arm. One of the contacting gripping surfaces may be roughened or the surfaces have inter-engaging undulations.
