Abstract

1,014,439. Chimney and like flashings. TRELLEBORGS GUMMIFABRIKS A.B. Nov. 18, 1964, No. 47045/64. Heading F4J. A natural or synthetic rubber flashing for sealing objects such as rods, ventilation pipes and chimneys projecting through a roof, comprises a collar part 11 sealingly surrounding the projecting pipe 20, merging directly into a bellows part 12 which merges directly into a panel part 13 glued to or placed in a roofing material 21. The panel part 13 is provided with clamping strips 14, 15 which are plastically deformable to form a seal with the roofing material which may be tiles, asbestos cement tiles, slate, shingles, roll roofing or sheet metal. A clamping ring 16 is either fixed to or loosely bears against the collar part 11 to seal it against pipe 20 which may be circular, square, oval or rectangular in section, suitably shaped clamping rings being used in each case. Due to the bellows part 12 being elastically deformable the flashing may be used with roofs of any inclination.
