Abstract
1,095,543. Advancing mine conveyers. DOWTY MINING EQUIPMENT Ltd. June 9, 1965 [March 11, 1964], No. 10310/64. Heading F1P. A conveyer 1 is advanced towards the receding working face 2 of a mine by a plurality of continually pressurized jacks 8 each connected to one of a series of advanceable roof supports 4 and each having an associated electrical potentiometer 11 responsive to the extension of the jack to cause corresponding movement of a member 14 forming part of an associated indicator 13, the indicators 13 being arranged such that the movable members thereof give a continual visual representation of the shape of the working face.
