Abstract

1,041,022. Heat developable photosensitive materials. ETABLISSEMENTS BAUCHET & CIE. Feb. 1, 1963 [Feb. 6, 1962], No. 4169/63. Heading G2C. A thermodevelopable 2-component diazotype material comprising a support, a layer containing a diazonium compound an an acid stabilizer and an upper layer containing a salt or an addition complex of a salt and ammonia or an amine in a polymeric binder, the salt or complex releasing ammonia or an amine or heating to 80-140‹C., the material also containing a coupler. Specified amine salts are those of p-laurolylaminobenzoic acid, 1-bromostearic acid, o-nitro cinnamic acid and p-hydroxy benzoic acid. Mixed in organic salts exemplified are alkali metal and alkaline earth metal ammonium and amino phosphates and carbmates and specified complexes are the ammonia complexes of zinc sulphate and stearate and the diethanolamine complexes of calcium sulphate and chloride. In the examples, the lower layer contains the diazonium compound, a coupler, sulphamic acid and urea unless the upper layer contains a heatsensitive salt which generates a diffusible coupler on heating (e.g. m-carboxy-α -benzoyl acetanilide diethanolamine salt) when a coupler is the lower layer is optional. The binder in the upper layer may be ethyl cellulose, polyvinyl formal acetal or polyvinyl acetal butyral Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 909, 491.
