Abstract

A complex alloy based on nickel and containing iron, also containing (in weight percentage) 0.5 to 4% boron; 0.05 to 1.5% carbon and 0.5 to 5% silicon. Compared to known alloys of the same type, the iron content of this alloy has been increased from 5 to 30% by weight and an amount of 0.1 to 20% by weight of at least one forming element has been added thereto. carbide and / or boride such as Mo, V, Nb, W, Zr, Hf, Ta, Ti and Cr (the latter element not being used alone). This alloy does not give rise to the formation of FeB or Fe3 C, or else it only forms a minimal quantity of these two compounds, and it allows to obtain a ductility which can be qualified as good to very good. . This alloy is superior, from an economic point of view, to conventional alloys of the same type, thanks to its higher iron content than that of those alloys in which it is sought, on the contrary, to keep the iron content at such a low level. as possible In addition, it exhibits even better oxidation and corrosion resistance than these alloys.
