Abstract

A size grading machine for carrots and similar, conically tapered vegetables comprises several rotary screening reels in succession, the annular screen of each reel being made up of spaced, parallel, longitudinal rods. The gaps between the rods is greater each successive reel. On a rising arc of each reel, and on a centr3-line at about 45 deg. to the horizontal which extends through the horizontal axis of the reel, is the horizontal axis of rotation of a circular brush.
