Abstract

A bearing system for movement or extension of a sliding or collapsible door comprises a rigid rail supported by a series of integral studs which can be partly immersed in the supporting floor. The rail and its roots are made of a high polymer such as rigid PVC, polypropylene, polyamide. Opt. the rail is mounted in a channel in the floor and the walls of the channel are masked with decorative strips of a semi-rigid or flexible material, such as flexible PVC. Opt. the rail and the masking strips are integrated by co-extrusion. A strip of low friction material may be mounted between the door base and the rail head, mounted on either the door or the rail.
