Abstract

The fire-door is of the type having a fire-resistant panel and an opening through which light and/or air can pass. A cut-off panel (8) which can close off the light/ventilation opening (5), is located inside the door, close to the opening. Also inside the door are U-section runners (9) along which the cut-off panel moves in order to close off the opening. A spring mechanism activates the panel to move along the rails to close off the opening, the panel being held in its normal position by a pin (10). This pin is made of a material which melts at a specific temperature. In the event of a fire, it will melt, releasing the panel to close off the ventilation opening.
