Abstract

The seal comprises a metal outer cap (1) having a coating (13) sealing against the rim of the bottle. Inside this cap and between it and the threaded area of the neck is a plastic lining (7) which is joined to a tear off ring (6) around its lower periphery. The ring has lip (11) angled to lock under a shoulder on the bottle and is joined to the lining by a zone of weakness. Dried syrup on the threads does not stick to the plastic lining and unscrewing is facilitated.
