Abstract

The large tube (2) has an axial extension which is a cylindrical housing (4) containing a coil spring (7) located axially by the extension ends. The housing has a circumferential slot to allow passage of the coil spring ends. The inner tube (3) passes through the spring, opened by the manually bringing together the spring ends, and is locked in position by the spring closing onto the tube after the ends have been released. The spring is retained at one end by a radially inwards projecting collar (6) on the housing and is retained at the other end by two diametrically opposed tongues (5) which are axially spaced along the internal housing surface. The tongues bias the spring to improve locking of the spring on the inner tube.
