Abstract

A tracing device for systems with one or more central data processors with corresponding memories, especially for central units for the control of telephone exchanges, having a memory system connected to the processor to be observed, receiving trace data from it on each memory operation consisting of address and mode of operation symbol transferred from the processor to its memory, and comprising indicators showing the type of process concerned; an addressed unit receives indicators emitted by the processor and also control symbols from a control unit of the tracing unit to identify the desired method of operation of the memory and of the operation to be stored; this unit indicates the addresses of the memory system in which a tracing data is to be recorded or read out for transfer to the control unit.
