Abstract
This device for personal training consists of one or two bands (1), made of high resistant material, with two washers sewn at its ends (2) or with length regulating devices, such as strapsclosed on themselves by means of the appropriate buckle. The device offers the possibility to add a second set of washers next to the two end washers (2'), as well as an intermediate washer (2"). It is also possible to selectively attach fabric handles or grips (4) to these washers (2-2'-2‴), by means of carabiners or similar elements, reinforced by an ergonomically shaped or by a rigid cylindrical tubular body (5). Additionally, the device may be complemented with a dynamometer (6) attached via fastening elements on the washers (2-2'-2‴) and/or on the handles (4). This device enables to complement the dynamometer, and enables it to be complemented not only with vibration systems, but also with the transmission systems to transfer the data obtained through other electronic devices such as a mobile phone.
Description
- The present creation refers to a device for personal training, intended to achieve multiple objectives with different types of population.
- The objective of the invention is to providethe users with a device that can operate with different resistance, intensity, speed, cadence and timing to achieve the desired result, either hypertrophy, power, strength or tonicity.
- Likewise, an additional purpose of the invention is to offer a simple, inexpensive and versatile device, which is highly effective in the execution of a wide range of exercises designed according todiverse needs.
- This device can be used by people with reduced mobility, children with a minimal physical coordination, people who wish to keep a healthy physical condition, and by beginners, intermediate and high-level athletes as well. Furthermore, it can be used individually or in conjunction with the guidance of a trainer.
- This device can be used on both, the upper and lower body.
- Furthermore, the use of the device is intended to be safe, avoiding damage to hands and/or feet when high pressures are exerted on it.
- Although there are countless devices and machines for the personal training of specific muscles or muscle groups, such devices present a series of problems, among which the following should be noted:
- Their versatility is usually very limited, being applicable only to a specific muscle group.
- They are usually complex and consequently expensive devices.
- They are usually intended for a specific type of person or athlete, so they are not versatile from the point of view of being applicable to children, people with reduced mobility, etc.
- The personal training device hereby recommended, solves satisfactorily the aforementioned problems, on the basis of a simple but effective solution.
- Following this purpose, the device has been equipped with an elongated, flattened body of high-strength fabric.Grips have been placed at its ends and at different points along its length by means of rings which are fixed to this body, and to which handles can be attached by means of carabiners or similar mechanisms.
- The handles mentioned above, include a rigid tubular body through which passes a closed loop to which the carabiner is attached, providing safe grips that prevent the crushing of hands or feet, when the device is exposed to very high stresses.
- Depending on the method or type of training to be carried out, this device can be used on its own, or in conjunction with another device of the same type. Likewise, its use is possible whether performing"in duo" exercises or following the guidance of a trainer.
- In order to better understand the device, the band will have an approximate length of 230 centimetres. Two metal washers will be sewn to its ends, and at about 30 centimetres from these, two washers will be sewn to the main body of the band. In the middle area, a fifth ring or washer shall be finely and similarly included.
- These rings may be selectively linked to the above-mentioned handles, either directly or with the insertion of a dynamometer, which provides a measurement of the force applied in each exercise.
- This allows the device to be used individually, or to be linked via the dynamometer, and by means of the central ring or washer, to another device of the same type with the insertion of the previously mentioned dynamometer.
- This dynamometer can be implemented in a device with additional functions, including a wireless communication module used to transfer the collected data, to be saved and analysed in a mobile application or in other electronic devices. It can be projected in a larger area for viewing the measured weighing data.
- The dynamometer is a portable weight that comprises an accelerometer and a communication module, ideally of the Bluetooth type, in an embedded circuit connected to a metal sensor. This gathers all the information and sends it to the user's account in a personal registered mobile application. Additionally, it can have an informative screen where various selecting data are displayed.
- The device will be supported by a manual structured in several parts; a first part or part "A", in where the following notions will be included.
- Part "A": "Methodology and general notions".
- 1. Introduction.
- 2. Specific framework.
- 3. Physiological, bio-mechanical and anatomical features of the system.

- 3. Main features of a SIM trainer.
- 4. Designing of a workout session.
- 5. Choreography as a learning facilitator.
- 6. Other factors to be taken into consideration: equipment (sportswear), facilities, and adequate hydration.
- Regarding technical characteristics, it should be mentioned that the dynamometer device linked to the user's mobile phone, reads the recorded parameters through a wireless headset connected via Bluetooth.
- These parameters can track the rhythm of the exercise to know who is doing what strength and when. Thus, the device collects the sound information together with the weighing data and saves both linking them to the muscle worked, generating graphs and calculating averages.
- Additionally, the dynamometer may be replaced or combined with a vibrating system, either independently or integrated in itself.
- This vibration system stimulates a much larger amount of muscle fibres, involving less effort, avoiding joint compromise and preventing further injury risks.
- This mechanism includes several vibration intensities, and can be used in the very same way as the dynamometer is actually used. This means that it can be used both in duo training, and as a personal trainer or as a rehabilitation device.
- This is a compact device, portable and adaptable to any other training devices, being able to be attached to pulleys, straps, elastic bands, hanging or traction elements.
- Another relevant feature is the possibility to complement the device with additional accessories, such as ankle braces with clamps to be attached to the main strap. In addition, a head or neck band for neck and cervical work can be combined with the device, by means of attachment methods to the main band.
- These methods have rings on the sides, the forehead and on the back of the neck, to allow different types of grips. The anchorages of all these materials are secured with several carabiners.
- The bands are 2.30 metres long, although they can be sectioned as required and modified to ensure the best adaptability to the different disciplines and sports. This will give endless possibilities in terms of sizes.
- Alternatively, the washers can be replaced by length regulating devices, such as straps that close on themselves by means of the appropriate buckle. These washers may be linked to the straps by means of seams, to which are attached carabiners, allowing the accessories involved in the device to be interchanged.
- Thus, the device of the invention is highly versatile and can be used in any kind of space and under any conditions, being suitable for optimising and complementing any kind of sports training.
- The device is very useful from an early age, as its use allows the development of psychomotor skills, strength, speed and tone, encouraging teamwork and improving socialisation.
- The handles can be used with both, hands and feet. This allows the device to be used individually by one person combining feet and hands, or it can be linked to a piece of furniture or resistive element through the aforementioned dynamometer, to perform different types of exercises.
- As mentioned above, the device can be used in dual mode, interlocked with another device of the same type via the dynamometer, in order to perform simultaneous exercises between two people or between a person and a trainer.
- The work in duo is based on the simultaneous performance of concentric and eccentric exercises, given that when one contracts, the other relaxes, being able to modify strength, speed, angles and even muscles.
- Thus, the combinations and results that can be obtained using this device are countless.
- A wide range of utilities can be generated from this structural design, for instance:
- Training routines to strengthen your muscles.
- Routines to increase muscular strength, tonicity and stretching capacity.
- Exercise routines for people with reduced mobility.
- Routines for in-home personal trainers.
- Routines designed specifically for children, teenagers and elders.
- Supplementary programmes for runners to strengthen their upper body.
- Programmes for cyclists.
- As previously mentioned, this device is not only intended for conventional athletes. Pregnant women can also benefit from this invention, as it is suitable for pre- and post-natal preparation
exercises, making it possible to work the pelvic floor, abdominals and back muscles; favouring recovery from labour and preventing prolapse. - This device can be used to prevent injuries in any work-related activity that requires physical effort, as well as to contribute to improving postural hygiene.
- This invention thus described, applies to any social environment, from schools to residential homes.
- In order to facilitate a better understanding of the features of the invention, and in accordance with an example of a practical execution, a description is shown together with a set of illustrative and non-limiting drawings, in which the following figures are depicted:
-
Figure 1 .-It shows a perspective view of a device for personal training in an unassembled arrangement, according to the purpose of the invention. -
Figure2 .- It shows a view of the previous figure, properly assembled. -
Figure3 .-It shows an example in which the device is linked to another device of the same type. -
Figure4 .-It shows a detailed view of the vibrating device integrated in the device of the invention. -
Figure5 .- It shows a similar view tofigure 3 , where the dynamometer has been replaced by the vibrating device infigure 4 . -
Figure6 .- It shows a front view of an auxiliary accessory of the device, a neck exercise strap. -
Figure7 .-It shows a profile view of an anklet, showing an additional accessory of the device. - In accordance with the figures shown above, please note that the device of the invention comprises a band (1) of fabric, with a proven resistance capacity to support a strength of 150 kg. This band has a length of approximately 2.3 metres, which includes two washers sewn at its ends (2) through which they can be linked fabric handles (4), by means of carabiners (3) or of equivalent elements, these can additionally include a rigid cylindrical or ergonomically shaped tubular body (5), through which the fabric from the handles can pass. This defines safe grips that prevent the crushing of hands or feet when the device is exposed to very high stresses.
- These handles (4) can be attached to the ends of the main body as an extension, or joined at different points of the band (1), as the band includes a second set of washers, (2') fixed at about 30 centimetres from its ends, as well as a central washer (2") fixed in its middle area. This enables resistance to be exerted from different application points, angles and body positions, enabling them to be applied to any patient or athlete, in order to exercise different muscles.
- The purchase of the product will include a duplicate, enabling the user to work either individually or collaboratively with another person, or with the help of a trainer. Given that the device includes a dynamometer (6) which can be linked to the ends of the band by means of the washers (2-2'-2"), and that it incorporates a corresponding handle (4), it is possible to measure the efforts made in each exercise.
- Thus, as shown in
figure 3 , the device can be cross-combined in a "V" shape, linking two devices together, by means of the dynamometer (6). This will enable to perform duo exercises
by selectively pulling each of the handles (4) in accordance with the type of exercise to be performed. The dynamometer also supports working with a single device by attaching it to a strong static element such as a furniture leg or any other stable element. - This dynamometer (6) can be transformed into a device with additional features, including a wireless communication module through which the collected data can be transferred. Once stored and analysed in a mobile application or other electronic device, it is possible to project this information in a large display room for monitoring the weighing data. This dynamometer allows the inclusion of an informative screen where previously selected data is displayed.
- As explained above, the dynamometer device, which communicates with the user's mobile phone, reads the parameters recorded through a wireless headset connected via Bluetooth.
- These parameters can set the rhythm of the workout, showing who is doing what strength and when, so that the device collects the sound information together with that of the weighing and links it to the information of the muscle being worked, making charts and calculating averages.
- Additionally, and according to
figures 4 and 5 , the dynamometer can be replaced or complemented with a vibration system (7), autonomously or integrated in its case. - This vibration system stimulates much more muscle fibres, involving less load, avoiding joint compromise and preventing the risk of injury.
- This mechanism includes several vibration intensities, and can be used in the very same way as the dynamometer is actually used. This means that it can be used both in duo training, and as a personal trainer or as a rehabilitation device.
- According to
figures 6 and 7 , it is possible to complement the device with additional accessories, such as ankle braces (1") with clamps (2") to be attached to the strap/straps(1). In addition, a head or neck ribbon(1') for neck and cervical work can be combined with the device, by means of attachment methods (2') to the band/bands (1). - These head or neck ribbons have rings (2"), on the sides, forehead and on the back of the neck, to allow different types of grips.
- The applicable tension systems can be numerous, and are based on the reference rm (maximum repetition), on the basis of which percentages will be defined in order to achieve the intended results. With this objective, the repetitions, strength, rests and sets required to obtain the marked evolution will be strictly followed.
- The resistance, angles, speeds, cadences and variables are multiple, and fully predetermined, in order to achieve sarcoplasmic or sarcomeric hypertrophy, etc
- Among the main benefits obtained with the device of the invention, the following must be noted:
- Intensive recruitment of muscle fibres, both at high competition level and at a level adapted to the possibilities of other users of the system, obtaining more results in less time.
- Achievement of muscle mass, increasing caloric consumption and reducing the storage of fat, avoiding pain caused by the lack of it.
- Functional recovery of affected joints and maintenance of the muscle length, required for the practice of high-performance sports and for a healthy daily functionality.
- Postural prophylaxis routines, to avoid incorrect postural habits in daily life.
- This device rivals expensive computer-controlled systems or machines in terms of performance, allowing more than 200 different exercises to be executed.
