Definitions
- both conductors of the conductor pair in the first and the second section are shielded from external electromagnetic influences by a common conductor pair shield.
- the conductors of the conductor pair are thus one below the other coupled and influence each other electrically.
- the conductors 8 are guided within the conductor pair shield 51.
- the conductors 8 are each encased by a first insulating part 9 .
- the conductors 8 each form a core with the respective insulating part 9 .
- the conductors 8 are twisted together (English: twisted-pair cable). Alternatively, the conductors 8 can also run parallel (twin-ax(ial)-cable).
- the pair of conductors carry a differential signal, such as a high frequency differential signal.
- conductor pair shield 51 Following the conductor pair shield 51, another conductor pair shield 52 is formed, which initially jointly shields the conductor pair as it continues.
- the distance between the individual conductors 8 increases within the conductor pair shield 52 from the first mutual distance X to the larger second mutual distance Y. Thereafter, the distance between the conductors 8 in the intermediate section 13 remains constant and the conductors 8 run parallel to each other.
- the inner conductor contact elements 20 each have a socket-shaped recess 23 for receiving an associated contact pin 24 of a mating connector 25 .
- In 3 is between the conductors 8 and the conductor screen 5232 an air gap. It goes without saying that the intermediate space can be adapted in accordance with electrical requirements and production conditions specific to the application.
- the figure 4 shows an embodiment 1 IV of the invention, with an alternative shield element 5240 with a conductor pair shield 5242 and conductor shield 5241.
- the conductor pair shield 5242 extends over the entire intermediate section 13.
- the conductor shield 5241 forming the shield section extends only over part of the intermediate section 13 and tapers trapezoidal in the broadening section 15.
- the screen element 5240 specifies the course of the conductors 8 in that the conductor shield 5242 separates the conductors 8.
- compensation for impedance due to the changing spacing can also occur in an area where the spacing of the conductors is constant, provided this is formed in the intermediate section immediately adjacent to the area with the changing spacing.
- 6 1 VI shows a further embodiment 1 VI of the invention, in which the shielding element 5260 with the conductor pair shield 5261 and the conductor shield 5262 extends both over parts of the cable 3 and over parts of the connector 2 for the purpose of further optimizing the transmission characteristics.
- the intermediate section 13 is not limited to the cable 3 or the connector 2 either.
- the insulating part 9 of the conductors 8 ends in front of the intermediate section 13.
- the insulating part 19 extends along the second section 14 and along the intermediate section 13, serves to insulate the conductors in this area and has a recess corresponding to the conductor shield 5272 in the intermediate section.
- complex shapes such as cylindrical shapes, or a recess slot into which a shielding plate is introduced are conceivable.
- the impedance Z odd of the push-pull mode in the first section 10 within the cable 3 is also “artificially increased”.
- the distance d1 between the conductors 8 and the conductor pair shield 51 and thus the capacitance C 11 between the individual conductors 8 and the conductor pair shield 51 within the cable 3 is reduced.
- the connector 1 IX has a dielectric spacer 27 between the conductors 8 .
- the connector 1 IX has a shielding element 5270 with a conductor pair shield 5271 and a conductor shield 5272.
- the screen element can be designed in one or more parts.
- FIGS. 9A-9F show different configurations of a conductor shield and a conductor pair shield.
- Figure 9A shows a further embodiment of the invention with a one-piece shielding element 5290 through which the conductors 8 are passed.
- the shielding element forms the outer conductor shield 5291 and the conductor shield 5292 between the conductors 8.
- Figure 9B shows another embodiment of the invention with a two-part screen element 5293, which has two symmetrical half-shells 5294.
- the half-shells 5294 are each formed as a negative of the other half-shell and can also have a corresponding surface profile, for example a jagged profile.
- the half-shells 5294 In order to guide the conductors 8, the half-shells 5294 have semi-circular indentations which impose a course on the conductors 8.
- Figure 9D shows another embodiment of the invention which is similar to the embodiment of Figure 10B.
- the screen element 5297 has two unequal shells 5298, 5299 which surround the conductor 8 when assembled.
- Figure 9E shows a further embodiment of the invention with a shielding element 5310, which has a conductor shield 5312 and a conductor pair shield 5311.
- the conductor shield 5312 encloses the conductors at approximately one-third of the circumference.
- the conductor pair shield can be set up to follow the course of the insulated conductors 8 in the broadening section and can taper or taper in this area.
- FIG. 10 shows a sectional view of an embodiment of the invention in the intermediate section.
- the conductors 8 are surrounded by a conductor pair shield 52 .
- the space between the conductors 8 with their insulating parts 9 and the conductor pair shield 52 is filled with air.
- a conductor shield 53 is inserted into the conductor pair shield 52 and also shields the conductors from one another.
- the conductor shield 53 can be formed, for example, as a sheet metal and can be inserted through a slot in the conductor pair shield 52 .
- the distance d 1 between the conductors 8 and the conductor pair shield 51 in the first section 10 is realized by an additional dielectric spacer 27 .
- This distance d 1 is greater than the distance d 2 between the conductors 8 and the screen element 52 in the intermediate section 13.
- a cable 3 is not limited to one pair of conductors, but can also have several pairs of conductors.
- a shielding element is provided with a part 5316 separating the conductors 8 and a part 5317 holding the conductors together.
- FIG 12B a shielding element with a plurality of parts 5318 separating the conductors and a plurality of parts 5319 holding the conductors 8 together is also shown for, for example, three pairs of conductors 8 . It goes without saying that this embodiment can be expanded or varied as desired.
- FIG. 13A shows the reflection behavior 1303 in the spectral range of a connector arrangement according to the invention, the reflection behavior 1302 of a connector arrangement according to FIG DE 20 2015 000 753 U1 and the reflection behavior 1301 of a connector arrangement without shielding in the transition between cable and connector.
- the reflection factor S 11 of the connector arrangement according to the invention only experiences a significant deterioration from a frequency f of approx. 7 GHz, while the reflection factor S 11 of a connector arrangement without shielding already starts at a frequency of approx. 0.8 GHz and the reflection factor S 11 a connector assembly according to DE 20 2015 000 753 U1 deteriorate significantly from a frequency of approx. 4 GHz.
- Figure 13B shows the pulse behavior 1306 depending on the time t of a connector assembly according to the invention, the pulse behavior 1305 of a connector assembly according to the DE 20 2015 000 753 U1 and the impulse behavior 1304 of a connector arrangement without shielding in the transition between cable and connector.
- the reflective impulse response of the connector arrangement according to the invention in the time domain, in which the received signal level value is converted to a corresponding impedance value Z, is damped significantly more than in a connector arrangement without shielding or in a connector arrangement according to DE 20 2015 000 753 U1 .
