In bevorzugter Ausgestaltung können die ineinander gesteckten Strümpfe lösbar verbunden sein, beispielsweise über ein lösbares Verschlussmittel wie eine Klettverbindung, so dass die Strümpfe bei Bedarf in einfacher Weise voneinander getrennt und separat angelegt werden können. Es kann bei dieser Ausführungsform, die eine eigenständige Erfindung darstellt, auf den jeweiligen Bedarf flexibel reagiert werden. Der innenliegende Strumpf, der insbesondere im getragenen Zustand unmittelbar in Kontakt mit dem Fuß eines Trägers ist, weist in einer besonders bevorzugten Ausgestaltung an der Außenseite Mittel für ein lösbares Verschlussmittel wie z.B. einen Klettverschluss auf. Die Einlagen zum Schutz für Knöchel, Achillessehne, Schienbein und/oder Wadenbein sind dann vorzugsweise derart ausgestaltet, dass diese lösbar an den innenliegenden Strumpf befestigt werden können, um so ein flexibles Anbringen der Schutzeinlagen zu ermöglichen und ein Verrutschen beim Tragen zu verhindern. Auch kann zwischen die beiden, ineinander gesteckten Strümpfe ein elastisches Band eingebracht und zum Beispiel durch Nähen befestigt worden sein, um so eine solche Vorspannung bereitzustellen, dass dadurch ein Außenriss nach oben gezogen werden kann mit den Wirkungen die nachfolgend noch näher erläutert werden. Vorzugsweise ist zumindest einer der beiden Strümpfe als Kompressionsstrumpf ausgeführt und zwar besonders bevorzugt der innen liegende Strumpf, um außerdem die vorteilhaften Eigenschaften eines Kompressionsstrumpfes zu integrieren. Es können aber auch beide Strümpfe als Kompressionsstrumpf ausgeführt sein.
