- Crate as claimed in claims 3 or 4, wherein the movable element (202) includes first and second actuation elements which cooperate with the first and second latch elements, respectively, for a movement from the biased first position into the second position.
- Crate as claimed in claim 4, wherein the movable element includes a shared actuation element which cooperates with the first and second latch elements, respectively, for a movement from the biased first position into the second position, wherein the latching mechanism further comprises a gear mechanism that translates the horizontal movement of the shared actuation element into two opposed movements of the first and second latch elements.
- Crate as claimed in claim 1, wherein the blocking element (100) is further arranged at the opposing side walls (14a, 14b) in a vertically translatable manner, wherein the blocking element (100) comprises a first latch element (230) and a second latch element, and wherein the opposing side walls (14a, 14b) include a third latch element (232) and a fourth latch element, respectively,
the latch elements being configured such that the first and third latch elements (230, 232) and the second and fourth latch elements engage with each other when the blocking element is arranged at a first vertical position, and that the first and third latch elements (230, 232) and the second and fourth latch elements are out of engagement when the blocking element (100) is arranged at a second vertical position, and

- Crate as claimed in any of the previous claims, wherein a plurality of mandrels (22a, 22b) are arranged on the base (12) that are configured such that they may hold bottles arranged within the crate.
- Crate as claimed in claim 10, wherein the height of the mandrels (22a, 22b) in the vertical direction (18) does not exceed the retrieval height (20) of the first side wall (16b).
- Crate as claimed in one of claims 10 or 11, wherein the mandrels (22a, 22b) comprise an outer bounding surface which extends upward in the vertical direction (18) and whose height varies along the outer perimeter of the mandrel.
- Crate as claimed in claim 12, wherein at least one mandrel (22a) comprises a bounding surface area (75) which bounds the mandrel (22a) in a direction parallel to the first side wall (16b) and has a lower height than a second bounding surface area (76) which bounds the mandrel (22a) in the direction of the first side wall (16b).
- Crate as claimed in any of claims 1 to 9, comprising an insert (112) that is detachably connectable to the base (12) and/or the side walls.
