Abstract

Cette invention, qui a trait à un nouveau polymère hydrosoluble obtenu par polymérisation d'un oligomère d'oxyde de polyalkylène possédant, à l'une de ses extrémités, un groupe spécifique insaturé éthyléniquement, avec un groupe monomère hydrosoluble, concerne également une solution aqueuse de celui-ci dont la viscosité est égale ou supérieure à 10 000 MPa.s (viscosimètre Brookfield, concentration : 20 % en poids). On peut produire, de manière satisfaisante, ce copolymère hydrosoluble et ce, à l'abri de tout incident, notamment sans gélification. Utilisé pour déshydrater des boues, ce copolymère permet d'obtenir des flocons dont la résistance mécanique est remarquable ainsi que la teneur en eau et la vitesse de filtration. Il se révèle des plus utile en matière d'augmentation des rendements, comme renforçateur de la résistance du papier, agent épaississant, etc. L'invention porte, de surcroît, sur un floculant polymère renfermant ce copolymère hydrosoluble ainsi que sur un procédé de déshydratation consistant à ajouter le copolymère aux boues, puis à déshydrater le mélange.
