Abstract

An automotive exhaust pipe silencer has a housing (1) with two exhaust gas inlets and two exhaust gas outlet pipes. A first exhaust gas pipe (17) links an inlet (6) with an outlet (8), passing directly through the silencing chamber and is essentially straight. The pipe (17) centre section has outlets (20) to the housing (1) chamber. The exhaust pipe (17) extension beyond the outlet (8) esp. has a throttle valve (22a).
