Abstract

Der Verbrennungsmotor umfaßt mindestens eine Brennkammer (1, 1') zur Verbrennung eines Treibstoffes in getakteten Explosionen unter Bildung eines Verbrennungsgases, mindestens eine mit der Brennkammer verbundenen, von der Brennkammer gesonderten Expansionskammer (3), die einen Kolben (4) zur Umsetzung von Energie des Verbrennungsgases in mechanische Energie bzw. Arbeit aufweist und ein Kurvengetriebe, über das vom Kolben eine Antriebswelle (32) antreibbar ist und welches eine Kurvenscheibe (31) und ein zugeordnetes Schubglied (30) aufweist, wobei zur Durchführung einer von einer kontinuierlichen Rotation der Kurvenscheibe (31) unabhängigen, unregelmäßigen Taktung der Motorzyklen, welche ein Pausieren des Kolbens (4) der Expansionskammer (3) an dessen oberem Totpunkt umfaßt, das Schubglied (30) von der Kurvenscheibe (31) abhebbar ist (Fig. 2).

The internal combustion engine comprises at least one combustion chamber (1, 1 ') for burning a fuel in pulsed explosions to form a combustion gas, at least one expansion chamber (3) connected to the combustion chamber and separate from the combustion chamber, which has a piston (4) for converting energy of the combustion gas in mechanical energy or work and a cam mechanism via which a drive shaft (32) can be driven by the piston and which has a cam disc (31) and an associated thrust member (30), for performing one of a continuous rotation of the cam disc (31) independent, irregular timing of the engine cycles, which includes pausing the piston (4) of the expansion chamber (3) at its top dead center, the thrust member (30) can be lifted off the cam disc (31) (Fig. 2).
