Dazu ist die Arbeitsscheibe 3 zweiteilig aufgebaut und weist eine Bearbeitungsscheibe 6 und eine Schaumstoffscheibe 7 auf. Die Verbindung zwischen Bearbeitungsscheibe 6 und Schaumstoffscheibe 7 erfolgt wiederum durch einen Klettverschluß. Die Bearbeitungsscheibe 6 ist dazu mit einer Gewebeschicht 8 hinterlegt, während auf die Schaumstoffscheibe 7, die aus Hochdruck-PU-Schaum oder vergleichbaren Materialien besteht, auf der zur Bearbeitungsscheibe gerichteten Scheibenfläche eine Klettschicht 15 aufgebracht ist. Die Schichten 5 und 15 auf den Scheibenflächen der Schaumstoffscheibe können aufgeklebt sein, da bei den zum Planschleifen oder Polieren erforderlichen, relativ niedrigen Drehzahlen die Festigkeit des Klebers durch Erhitzung nicht beeinträchtigt wird.
