Abstract

The method yields n-formyl-l-aspartic anhydride using a minimal excess of formic acid. Acetic anhydride and C3-C6 secondary alcohol were added to the reaction mixture to bind excess formic acid. The resulting reaction mixture containing n-formyl-l-aspartic anhydride is suitable for use in subsequent reactions without modification. 14 claims
