Abstract

En osmotisk pumpe som har et minimalt ettergivende volumeffektivt stempel posisjonert i en kapsel. Kapselen har en interiøroverflate, et fordelaktig middel og et osmotisk middel. Stempelet er bevegelig med hensyn til en interiøroverflate av kapselen, og deflnerer en bevegelig forsegling med interiøroverflaten til kapselen. Den bevegelige forseglingen separerer det osmotiske midlet fra det fordelaktige midlet. Stempelet har et lengde til totalt diameterforhold på ca. 1,1:1 og et kjemediameter til totalt diameterforhold på ca. 0,9:1. Stempelet muliggjør større fordelaktig middel og/eller osmotisk middeltilsetning uten å øke størrelsen på kapselen. Det osmotiske midlet suger opp væske fra et omkringliggende miljø gjeimom et semipermeabelt element og forårsaker at stempelet beveges seg og i sin tur leverer det fordelaktige midlet fra kapselen.
