Abstract
Device (1) arranged for attaching a utility apparatus (103), such as a heat pump or an air conditioning, to a slanted roof (105) of a building (101, 201), said device (1) comprising: - a housing (3) comprising: - a receiving space (7) arranged for receiving said utility apparatus (103); and - a housing opening (9) arranged for providing access to said receiving space (7); - an attachment arrangement (5) arranged for attaching said device (1) to said slanted roof (105) of said building (103); wherein said device (1) comprises a positioning arrangement (25) arranged for positioning said utility apparatus (103) in a range of positions relative to said housing (3) such that, in use of said device (1), an orientation relative to a ground surface (G) of said utility apparatus (103) is independent of an angle (A) of said slanted roof (105) relative to said ground surface (G). Building (101, 201) comprising a slanted roof (105), a utility apparatus (103) and the device (1).
Description
Title: Device arranged for attaching a utility apparatus and a building comprising the device Description According to a first aspect, the present disclosure relates to a device arranged for attaching a utility apparatus, such as a heat pump or an air conditioning, to a slanted roof of a building. According to a second aspect, the present disclosure relates to a building comprising a slanted roof and the device according to the first aspect of the present disclosure. A known device for attaching a heat pump to a slanted roof is provided with a housing and an attachment arrangement. The housing of the known device comprises a receiving space arranged for receiving the heat pump and a housing opening arranged for providing access to the receiving space. The known device further comprises an attachment arrangement arranged for attaching the device to the slanted roof of the building. Although the known device functions well in daily use, it can be improved with regard to the versatility in relation to application in different buildings. An objective of the present disclosure is to provide a device that has a relative large versatility in to relation to application in different buildings.
The objective is realised by providing the device according to the first aspect of the present disclosure with a positioning arrangement arranged for positioning said utility apparatus in a range of positions relative to said housing such that, in use of said device, an orientation relative to a ground surface of said utility apparatus is independent of an angle of said slanted roof relative to said ground surface. The present disclosure at least partly relies on the insight that a utility apparatus such as a heat pump or an air conditioning is maintained in a substantial upright position, preferably in an upright position, during use of the utility apparatus. Use of a the known apparatus is generally limited to buildings provided with slanted roofs having a similar angle relative to the ground surface. This requires for a relative large variation of known devices to cater for different building designs. By providing the positioning arrangement the device according to the first aspect of the present disclosure may be applied in a relative versatile population of buildings. This is beneficial for realising a relative cost effective solution for realising a predetermined alignment of the utility apparatus relative to a horizontal virtual plane independent of the angle relative to the ground surface of the slanted roof.
Preferably, said positioning arrangement is arranged for positioning said utility apparatus in a range of predetermined positions relative to said housing. This is beneficial for applying the device for buildings having slanted roofs enclosing different angles with a ground surface. The predetermined positions may for instance relate to frequently applied angles of the slanted roof relative to the ground surface. This is beneficial for realising in a practical manner a relative reliable installation of the device and the utility apparatus. In an embodiment of the device according to the first aspect, said housing comprises a wall facing said receiving space and wherein said positioning arrangement is attached to said wall of said housing. It is beneficial if said wall comprises a recess for at least partly receiving said utility apparatus and/or said positioning arrangement.
Preferably, said recess is arranged for receiving fluids that may origin from said utility apparatus. It is advantageous if said recess is provided such that for angles of a slanted roof relative to the ground surface that are commonly used fluids collect in said recess.
In this regard, it is beneficial if said housing is provided with a drain, coupled for fluid flow with said recess, for draining, in use, fluids from said recess. Draining said fluid from said recess is beneficial for avoiding a relative unfavourable operating conditions of said utility apparatus in said receiving space.
Preferably, said housing comprises a further recess, substantially parallel to said recess, for receiving fluids that may origin from said utility apparatus. It is advantageous if said further recess is provided such that for angles to a slanted roof relative to the ground surface that are occasionally used fluids collect in said further recess.
In this regard, it is advantageous if said further recess is coupled for fluid flow with said drain, for draining, in use, fluids from said further recess. Draining said fluid from said further recess is beneficial for avoiding a relative unfavourable operating conditions of said utility apparatus in said receiving space.
It is advantageous if said positioning arrangement comprises a rail arranged for holding said utility apparatus in said range of positions. Providing a rail is beneficial for realising in a practical manner a range of positions for positioning the utility apparatus.
In this regard, it is beneficial if said rail is curved along a length of said rail for positioning said utility apparatus in said range of positions relative to said housing such that, in use of said device, said orientation relative to said ground surface of said utility apparatus is independent of said angle of said slanted roof relative to said ground surface.
Preferably, said positioning arrangement comprises a fastening element arranged for being fastened to said utility apparatus and further arranged for being fastened to said rail. Providing the fastening element is beneficial for allowing a relative reliable and practical fastening of the utility apparatus to the device.
Preferably, said attachment arrangement comprises a housing part forming a circumference of said housing opening and wherein said housing part is arranged for providing, in use, an interface between said housing and said slanted roof of said building.
In an embodiment of the device according to the first aspect, said housing is provided with a housing door arranged for providing access, in use of said device, to said receiving space, via an interior space of said building, in an open condition of said housing door and for blocking, in use of said device, access to said receiving space, via said interior space of said building, in a closed condition of said housing door.
Preferably, said housing comprises a thermal insulation material arranged for thermally insulating said utility apparatus from an interior of said building and/or comprises a sound insulation material arranged for sound insulating said utility apparatus from said interior of said building.
According to the second aspect the present disclosure relates to a building comprising a slanted roof, a utility apparatus and said device according to the first aspect of the present disclosure, wherein said slanted roof is provided with a roof opening and said device is attached, by said attachment arrangement, to said slanted roof such that said roof opening and said housing opening overlap for providing access, via said roof opening and said housing opening, to said receiving space, wherein said utility apparatus is provided in said receiving space such that an orientation of said utility apparatus relative to said ground surface is independent of said angle of said slanted roof relative to said ground surface.
Embodiments of the building correspond to embodiments of the device according to the first aspect of the present disclosure. The advantages of the building correspond to the advantages of the device according to the first aspect of the present disclosure presented previously.
Preferably, said device is attached, by said attachment arrangement, to said slanted roof such that said roof opening and said housing opening overlap for providing access, via said roof opening and said housing opening, to said receiving space from an exterior of said building.
In an advantageous embodiment of the building according to the second aspect, said slanted roof encloses an angle with a horizontal virtual plane in the range of 10 to 75 degrees.
It is beneficial, if said position of said range of positions is such that said utility apparatus is positioned in a substantial upright position. The present disclosure will now be explained by means of a 5 description of a preferred embodiment of a device and a building, in which reference is made to the following schematic figures, in which: Fig. 1: a device according to the present disclosure is shown; Fig. 2: in a side view the device from Fig. 1 is shown; Fig. 3: cross-section A-A from Fig. 2 is shown; Fig. 4: cross-section B-B from Fig. 3 is shown; Fig. 5 - 6: buildings according to the present disclosure are shown; Fig. 7 — 8: an element of the device according to the present disclosure is shown.
Device 1 is arranged for attaching a utility apparatus 103, such as a heat pump or an air conditioning, to a slanted roof 105 of a building 101. The device 1 comprises a housing 3 and an attachment arrangement 5. The housing 3 comprises a receiving space 7, a housing opening 9 and a housing door 11. The receiving space 7 is arranged for receiving the utility apparatus 103. The utility apparatus 103 may be provided in the receiving space 7 either via the housing opening 9 or the housing door
11. The housing 3 comprises an inner wall 13 and an outer wall 15 delimiting a wall volume that is substantially filled with a thermally and sound insulating material 31. The inner wall 13 and the outer wall 15 comprise a plastic and may be formed by blow moulding or rotation moulding. The inner wall 13 is provided with a recesses 17a, 17b, 17c arranged to receive the utility apparatus 103 and or a positioning arrangement 25 at least partly therein, thereby allowing provision of a relative small receiving space 7. The housing door 11 is hingedly connected, via hinges 23, to the remainder of the housing 3.
The recesses 17a and 17b are coupled for fluid flow, via a drain recess 17c, to a housing drain 45. The housing drain 45 is formed as through hole in the housing 3. By coupling the recesses 17a and 17b to housing drain 45, fluids,
originating from the utility apparatus 103, that may collect in the recesses 17a and 17b are drained via drain recess 17c and housing drain 45. The attachment arrangement 5 comprises a housing part 19. The housing part 19 is provided at a circumference of said housing opening 9. The housing part 19 is arranged for providing, in use, an interface between said housing 3 and said slanted roof 105 of said building 101. The attachment arrangement 5 further comprises through holes 21 arranged for receiving a fastening means (not shown) such as a bolt fastening the device 1 to the slanted roof 105.
Device 1 further comprises the positioning arrangement 25. The positioning arrangement 25 is attached to the inner wall 13 and comprises a curved rail 27. The positioning arrangement 25 is arranged for positioning the utility apparatus 103 in a range of positions relative to the housing 3. The rail 27 is arranged for holding the utility apparatus 103 inside the housing 3 in a position of the range of positions.
The curvature radius of the rail 27 along the length of the rail 27 corresponds to a curvature radius of the inner wall 13 of the housing 3 at the location rail 27. The rail 27 is maintained in a predetermined position relative to the housing 3 via support organs 29 and 31 received in recesses 17a, 17b. In an alternative embodiment of the housing 3, the housing is free from such a curvature radius and may for instance be substantially rectangular. The positioning arrangement 25 further comprises a fastening element 33. The fastening element 33 is provided with a fastening element recess 35 arranged for receiving, at least partly, rail 27. The utility apparatus 103 may be fastened to a fastening surface 39 via fastening means, such as bolts, provided in fastening openings 41. A side 37 of the fastening element 33 turned away from the fastening surface 39 comprises a curvature corresponding to the curvature of the rail
27. The fastening element 33 is further provided with drains 43 for allowing fluid originating from the utility apparatus 103 to reach recesses 17a and/or 17b.
Building 101 comprises the slanted roof 105, the utility apparatus 103 and the device 1. The slanted roof 105 is provided with a roof opening (not shown). Device 1 is attached, by the attachment arrangement 5, to the slanted roof 105. The device 1 may be positioned in the roof opening by lowering the device 1 from the exterior of the building 101 in the roof opening. The device 1 is attached such to the slanted roof 105 that the housing opening 9 extends in a virtual plane S parallel to an outer side of the slanted roof 105. The receiving space 7 is accessible via the housing door 11 from the inside of the building 101. The virtual plane S encloses an angle A of about 50 degrees with the ground surface G. The utility apparatus 103 is positioned relative to said slanted roof 105 such that the utility apparatus 103 is in an upright position.
Building 201 differs mainly from building 101 in that the angle A is about 20 degrees. Elements of building 201 similar to elements of building 101 are provided with reference numbers identical to the reference numbers used to indicate the elements of building 101.
