Abstract

Se describe un sistema para retirar el dióxido de carbono en una mezcla de gas cargado con dióxido de carbono, el sistema comprende dos grupos de estructuras de retiro de dióxido de carbono, cada estructura de retiro dentro de cada grupo comprende un sustrato de masa sólida porosa sostenido sobre la estructura; y un sorbente que es capaz de adsorber o unirse al dióxido de carbono, para retirar el dióxido de carbono en una mezcla de gas, el sorbente está sostenido sobre las superficies del sustrato de masa sólida porosa; un soporte de bucle sin fin para cada uno de los grupos de estructuras de retiro, el soporte de bucle sin fin está dispuesto de modo que mueva las estructuras de soporte de cada grupo a lo largo de una curva cerrada mientras se expone a una corriente de la mezcla de gas; y una caja de regeneración sellable en una ubicación a lo largo de cada uno de los soportes de bucle sin fin, en la cual, cuando un sustrato de masa sólida porosa se sella en su lugar en la misma, el dióxido de carbono adsorbido sobre el sorbente se extrae desde el sorbente y el sorbente se regenera; cada estructura de retiro sostiene un sustrato poroso en una posición para que esté expuesto a un flujo de la mezcla de gas cargada con dióxido de carbono con el fin de permitir el retiro de CO2 en la mezcla de gas; el número de estructuras de retiro con respecto al número de cajas de regeneración se determina directamente por la relación del tiempo para adsorber el CO2, a partir de un nivel inicial al nivel deseado en el sorbente, hasta el momento de la extracción del CO2 desde el nivel deseado en retroceso al nivel inicial.
