Ratings - every series is rated both comparatively, and based on its own merit.

10-Masterpiece. To make this list, the series/movie must not have any major flaws that detract from the overall message or plotline. In addition, it must have some overarching message or theme that is actually significant to people in real life, and have characters, plot, setting, or any other factors in its writing that communicate this effectively.

9-Amazing. Just missing a few things that would distinguish it as a Masterpiece, but still pretty damn good. Making this list most definitely means that it is worth watching, and is probably a very enjoyable or thought provoking experience, even if it isn't AS good comparatively as the contenders that make the 10 rating. Series's are only placed into this rating if they've been bumped down by comparatively better series's in the 10 category.

8-Great. These series's are also worth a watch, and are very well executed. More effort would probably mean a 9, or even a 10, but the series is what it is.

7-Good. Most series's in this category are probably worth watching, even though they may have some flaws or other issues that may detract from the overall viewing experience.

6-Above average. Just another show that has its share of flaws and things done right. You can determine for yourself how good it is. There are probably some series's worth watching in this rating, but the majority are probably best avoided from here on out.

5- Average. Just your average show. Not particularly outstanding in any category, or has some major flaws coupled with major successes that give it a net rating of neutrality. Worth a watch if you're looking for something specific, or if you believe that the successes greatly outweigh the flaws.

4-Below average. A pretty terrible watch. Not really worth watching, unless you really desire to, or have some other reason to watch the series. There are plenty of other fish in the sea.

3-Far below average. Definitely not worth a watch. Anime with a rating this low can't be trusted, and they'll usually mess up your day.

2-Trash. Exactly what the header states. This anime is the garbage that people take out every day to the dumpster. If I met an anime of this caliber on the streets, I'd avoid them and keep walking, hoping not to make eye contact.

1-Unspeakable. I've never once given a series this rating, and for good reason. In order to earn the maximum number of negative points possible, a series has to have literally no merits, and every single attribute of the series must harm it in some way.

I love scifi, action/adventure, and the like, but I'm also open to most anything. If it's slice of life, and it isn't funny or touching in some way... I would probably not enjoy it very much. Romance, horror/psychological/thrillers, mystery, shounen, shoujo, josei, seinen, any of these tags, I'm A-OK with. I love surprises, and intricate plots are my thing, although if it's just a well done, simple story, that's great as well.

I don't usually post in the forum, unless there's something I want to rant about, but I have started to review a few shows, and you can check those out if you're interested. But yeah, I find that posting in forums isn't my thing, and I'd rather just chat with friends without having to wait for a forum reply post or having to visit that particular thread again. I'm open to profile comments and replying to those though! :)

Also, if you bag on one of my favorite shows for no good reason... get ready to get that flipped over! If I'm not doing anything at the moment, I'll probably leave a comment or something. I do love contentious arguments, and think it's fun to write a response (probably because I used to be a speech and debater :-< )

My favorite studio is Shaft, and I am a diehard Madoka fan. Like, seriously, I think it's super artistic, and I find it hard to find any series that is as well executed and as feel inducing as Madoka. Even Clannad Afterstory. (Sorry guys! D: ) I also love A-1 pictures (wallpapers every 5 seconds, guys), and lots of other studios too (these studios just produce the most amazing looking shows time and time again).

I also love Gen Urobuchi, even though he always "urobutcher's" my happy endings (queue laughing crowd). This dude mindfucks me so hard every time, I've grown to expect it. If you haven't seen anything by him, I highly, highly recommend you do!

Favorite characters are... favorite characters. I guess. Honestly, I just chose my favorites. No rhyme, nor reason to it. And that's exactly how it should be ;) *Nymph-chan will always by my waifu~*

Opinions are opinions, and I'm not trying to offend anybody. Just... get facts straight. The only thing that ticks me off is when people argue a point, when that point is clearly addressed by the original source material - in which case a rewatch of the series would help a lot more than arguing with me/others about what happened in the series in the first place.
