My patience has just about run out with this manga. Every chapter is literally just a whole bunch of nothing; well, the more sophisticated individuals would describe it as a “slow-burn” romance manga, but I don’t even know if the romance exists due to how the author treats every chapter.
At the end of almost every chapter, the author ends with “this is how our romance is the biggest/bestest romance every in history” or something like that but more poetic, but the romance is quite literally the opposite. cares more about world building than romance in a romance manga.
With as much world-building this manga has, you’d expect a lot of this to be explained, right? Nope. Every single “world-building” moment wasn’t essential to the story at all besides for building up some side characters here and there that we are supposed to care about. If anything, it felt like filler for no reason at all. But figure me this: how am I supposed to care about the side characters if the fml and ml dynamic is nonexistent?
As for the main character, he’s really pathetic, and he doesn’t change at all. He’s your average self-depreciating main character that has “kindness”; in other words, he’s a b*tch. Okay, that might have been a bit rude or too far, but it’s true. He has no spine, and on the off-chance that he does interact with the heroine, there’s no chemistry.
To briefly cover the plot, the plot is a bit random. You get the gist of it by being really slow with its world-building/romance, but it’s really random. Characters and events are introduced randomly, and the resolution of each one is like “seriously? What did I just spend my time on?” All of it seems so pointless.
The manga is just bland and boring — it’s like you know the author has SOME capability to write a story, but he didn’t really think of the sequence of events or anything to actually keep the readers engaged.
On a side note, I thought this manga would have been somewhat supernatural with how “out of place” the mc felt, but yeah, he’s just being over-dramatic with how amazing the university/people in the university are that it becomes so silly. Also, the comedy stinks.
