I draw a lot of inspiration from Japanese and Chinese prints and cultures to paint my watercolors. The black shape of this watercolor was made with a dried fennel flower, I sometimes use broccoli, chopsticks or feathers, to obtain a different effect than with the brushes. I like to combine abstract shapes with a figurative element. I find this watercolor captivating, almost hypnotic. It is soothing, deep and mystical at the same time. It is an A3 format.
