A Mini Makeover for a Good Cause!

By 01/13/20254 Comments

I know we’re all thinking about the tragedy of the fires in LAđź’” my heart goes out to everyone affected. Today, I also want to bring to your attention another cause that I’ve recently been working on with Tydell Foods in Chilliwack.

Brigida and her husband have been tirelessly helping the local community they help feed 800 seniors a month in addition to providing food for the homeless.

Brigida was a nurse for her entire career and when she retired she began doing this work to help our community and she needs your help!

During the Christmas break, I went to her new office space with my Mom. And that’s when I gave her a one day makeover so that she has a cozy and welcoming space to visit with the seniors who come to see her.

This is the room before. Watch and see how I made the accent wall work in the choices I made. The biggest impact here was adding art and then I also rustled up some white accessories to sit behind her on the black bookshelves.

Check out the after and her sweet reaction below!

Here’s how you can help

A GoFundMe page has been set up for this non-profit organization. Click here to help.

Community is everything

I deeply admire angels like Brigida and those who daily make a difference in a boots on the ground way to their community!

Together we are better. And together we can best solve problems and provide support and mutual learning and growth. That’s why I recently added an interactive community space to my colourful world. I really hope to meet you inside!

That’s really nice of you Maria. Seeing a complete renovation is fun, but I also love seeing spaces reworked from what was already there. All the things you added made it feel warm and somewhere someone would WANT to get some work done. Great job. 🙂

What a beautiful transformation, and for such a good cause! This is why I love the effect of decorating: how it can put you in a positive mindset and make our lives cheerier. Not to mention the creative outlet that it is! That’s magic! I see this office having an uplifting effect on anyone–the good changes start there!

The food feeds the body and the art feeds the soul. Well done, Maria!

Great job Maria! BTW, something Maria-inspired happened to me today… I finally made it to Ikea and picked up the last 5 dogwood stems they had! My foyer is going to look great with them!
