Netflix, take a bow. While the show certainly had its ups and downs across the seasons, the final few episodes gave us the perfect ending to one of the most miraculous show revivals ever attempted. Coming full circle and giving Johnny the ending he deserved, while also managing to tie up all loose ends so that all characters were given satisfying endings, this was an absolute joy to watch.
Yes, an 80's cheese-fest throughout, but that's what made it glorious. When it embraced that, it was perfect. I still marvel at how they got away with Johnny dialogue in today's climate, but thank God they did. Strike first, strike hard, no mercy.

I put this on as I wanted something I wouldn't have to pay much attention to, but still might be mildly interesting. To my surprise, it was actually a pretty damn good action film, also serving up a reasonably decent representation of the truth of military interaction between services.
Russell Crowe is excellent, portraying perfectly the calm, unflappable persona required of the "eyes and ears" remotely piloting the drone.
Even Hemsworth surprised me, giving us the hero who's not quite your stereotypical war film super soldier.
All in, not Oscar-worthy, but definitely worth a watch especially if you're a fan of the genre.

Ryan Reynolds should be ridiculed no more - this is the worst big-budget superhero movie ever made.
It's a mess from start to finish. The tone is odd, each set piece is messy and barely connected to the previous, and the interaction between main characters is forced, badly-written, and juvenile.
Speaking of juvenile, the "humour" in this movie seems written for pre-teens. Early scenes of baby urinating in dad's face during a nappy scene - that wasn't particularly funny the first time it was used in film, probably around 40+ years ago. Not new here, and no funnier.
Hopefully James Gunn's DC reboot can do more with the source material.
