2025 is about to be a big year in Salem! From a new romance to a heartbreaking goodbye, here’s what to expect on Days of our Lives in the new year.
Dolly?
With Doug III (Peyton Meyer) sticking around Salem, it looks like he’s going to have his eye on someone special… and taken. Already with hopes of attending a concert with Holly (Ashley Puzemis), it looks like a romance may be about to develop between the two Salem youngsters.
Read This: Here’s what’s coming up the next weeks on Days.
But where will that leave Tate (Leo Howard)? Well, with the news of Sophia’s (Madelyn Kientz) pregnancy coming out, he may be a bit too preoccupied with his baby mama to even notice Holly drifting away and straight to Doug III.

Well, hello, Louis! Add another talent to the already prodigious roster of Louis Armstrong: Jazz giant, trumpeter par excellence, great American vocal stylist and, now, the rare musical historical figure powerful and charismatic enough to drape a jukebox musical around and come out a victor.
A Wonderful World: The Louis Armstrong Musical, starring a terrific James Monroe Iglehart as the legendary Satchmo, opens on Broadway tonight at the Roundabout Theatre Company’s Studio 54, and if it doesn’t escape every pitfall of the jukebox musical, it certainly comes closer than most. Wonderful World is too expansive in chronological scope to delve too deeply into the crucial question of what made Armstrong such an incomparable figure in the history of American music, but with Iglehart and a fine supporting cast of excellent singer-actresses portraying Armstrong’s four wives – Dionne Figgins as Daisy Parker, Jennie Harney-Fleming as Lil Hardin,...

An artist and writer as well as documentary filmmaker, Johan Grimonprez takes a multidisciplinary approach to his subjects, combining archival footage, interviews, and cultural artifacts to dismantle how history is shaped and presented to us. As French writer Voltaire writes: “History is the lie commonly agreed upon”
Centered around the assassination of Congo leader Patrice Lumumba in 1961, Soundtrack to a Coup d’Etat is a kaleidoscope of politicians, spies, colonialism, revolution, and music––specifically jazz music of the 1950s and 1960s. Weaving together strands from Africa, Europe, and the United States, Grimonprez makes a compelling case that Lumumba’s death reverberates through society to this day.
Grimonprez uses jazz as a thread to tie together stories as disparate as Russian leader Nikita Khrushchev pounding his shoe at the United Nations, the CIA sponsoring “jazz ambassador” tours of Africa, and Belgian leaders holding onto Congolese resources while ceding control of the country.

Broadway will honor the late actor Adrian Bailey, who died September 22 at the age of 67 following an at-home fall, by dimming the marquee lights of one theater from every theater owner on October 17.
“Over the years, Mr. Bailey has served as an inspiration not only due to his talented performances on Broadway and Touring Broadway stages, but also through his perseverance, positive attitude, and indomitable spirit,” said Jason Laks, Interim President of The Broadway League. “The outpouring of love from our community is a testament to that spirit. In losing Adrian Bailey, we have truly lost a bright light both on and off Broadway, and our thoughts are with his family, friends, former colleagues, and all who loved him best.”

Third Man has physical locations in Nashville, Detroit, and London. According to Third Man’s London Instagram page, the album will be available for today only. Update: White is encouraging those lucky enough to secure a copy to share the love by ripping the music and posting it online.
The vinyl does not have a title or artwork. A fan who picked up a copy described the music as “more stripped down blues rock,” adding, “The songs go hard!” It apparently contains a total of seven songs on Side A and six songs on Side B, with etchings that read, “Heaven and Hell” and “Black and Blue.”

Exclusive: Netflix is developing a feature adaptation of A Thousand Boy Kisses, the bestselling novel written by the UK’s Tillie Cole, sources tell Deadline.
Stephen Chbosky (The Perks of Being a Wallflower) will direct from a script by Liz Maccie (Siren), with David Hoberman producing for Hobie Films. The project marks a reteam for Chbosky and Maccie on the heels of Nonnas, the comedy starring Vince Vaughn for Fifth Season, 1Community and Madison Wells, on which we were first to report.
Originally published by Bloom Books in 2016, the novel’s protagonist is seventeen-year-old Rune Kristiansen, who in returning from his native Norway to the sleepy town of Blossom Grove, Georgia, where he befriended Poppy Litchfield as a child, has just one thing on his mind. Why did the girl who was one half of his soul, who promised to wait faithfully for his return, cut him off without a word of explanation?...

“Fans say they want 2015 Vince,” Vince Staples says on “Etouffée,” a track from his sixth studio album, Dark Times. While the SoCal rapper’s career is an undeniable success story, far removed from his experiences as a teenage Crip that’s inspired much of his work, he’s still haunted by the possibility that violence might lie around every corner.
The album’s cover depicts a barely visible noose against a black background, and paranoia abounds on tracks like “Government Cheese.” The song’s refrain, “Don’t forget to smile,” starts to feel like sarcasm when a dejected Staples takes a phone call from an imprisoned friend: “Told him I was good, wonder if he believed it/Couldn’t tell him the truth.” He raps in a numb monotone throughout the track, like he’s pulling the words from his mouth.
Staples’s trust issues extend to romantic relationships as well.

Vince Staples has released his new album, Dark Times, via Def Jam Recordings.
Dark Times contains 13 tracks and was recorded over seven months in North Hollywood. In an Instagram post, Staples revealed the album is his final release on Def Jam.
“Eleven years ago, a young, uncertain version of myself was given an opportunity with Def Jam Recordings,” he wrote. “I released my first project under their banner, Shyne Coldchain Vol 2, a year later. I was unsure of what to expect from the world of music but deeply aware of what I needed: a change in my surroundings and a clear understanding of self. Ten years and seven projects later, I’ve found that clarity.”
In a separate statement about the album cover, which features a faintly seen noose, Staples explained, “I’m Black, and that’s what we’re evading. We all have our things that could kill us.

Vince Staples says he wasn’t looking to drum up hype for his upcoming album, Dark Times. Over Zoom, he tells Rolling Stone that it was a bit of the opposite. He announced the project, out tomorrow, just a week before its release, and hasn’t opted for any of the typical prerelease attention-grabbing that listeners have become accustomed to in the streaming era. “There’s no reason to do things that traditionally were set up for people to go and have to purchase things at a specific time and date,...

The phrase "In Liebe Deine Jungs" translates to "With Love... Your Boys" and pays tribute to Werner Ziegler's crew in Better Call Saul. Lalo Salamanca's investigation into Werner uncovers Gus Fring's super-lab, connecting Better Call Saul to Breaking Bad. While the German plaque stands out, both Better Call Saul and Breaking Bad featured poorly-spoken Spanish, sparking criticism.
What does "In Liebe Deine Jungs" from Better Call Saul season 6, episode 5 mean in English? The Better Call Saul episode "Black & Blue" begins with one of the show's signature enigmatic cold opens: a flawless glass block constructed from scratch with a slide ruler sitting dead center. A German phrase is then etched onto the front: "In Liebe... Deine Jungs." More than two years have passed since it was announced that MGM, Bron, and Hidden Empire Film Group were teaming with director Deon Taylor to conjure up a reboot of the 1972 blaxploitation classic Blacula (watch it Here). A new Van Halen box set, The Collection II, has been announced and will arrive on October 6th via Rhino.
Following the 2015 set, The Collection, which housed the band’s first six albums with David Lee Roth, The Collection II will cull the four Van Halen albums featuring singer Sammy Hagar in addition to several studio rarities and a B-side.
Affectionately known as the “Van Hagar” years, Eddie Van Halen and company released four successful LPs while fronted by the Red Rocker during the ’80s and ’90s: 5150 (1986), OU812 (1988), For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge (1991), and Balance (1995).
The Collection II will compile these records together for the first time on vinyl ($124.98) and CD ($49.98). A fifth disc, titled Studio Rarities 1989-2004, is especially of note for hardcore Van Halen enthusiasts. Among these eight tracks is “Crossing Over,” the B-Side to Balance’s “Can’t Stop Lovin’ You” (the band’s only non-album B-side...

Since its premiere in 1990, "Law & Order" has become the gold standard of police procedurals. It was by no means the first police procedural, but it is perhaps the most recognizable. True to its genre, each episode of this series features a crime that must be solved by detectives and prosecuted by the District Attorney's office. Although some storylines are original ideas, many take inspiration from high-profile cases, larger-than-life criminals, and current events within the U.S. justice system.
After three decades and counting, fans can enjoy over 400 episodes and 22 seasons of their favorite procedural. It's a massive chunk of television to sift through, but some parts of the series are more worthwhile than others. From unbearable characters to stale plots, the worst seasons of "Law & Order" are full of frustrating departures from the series' tried-and-true formula. However, the best seasons offer viewers a glimpse at just how great procedural television can be,...

It may not be particularly fair to say that this is a bit of a duff weekend, because there are indeed new wide and moderate releases. It’s just that very few of them are screening in advance for critics and therefore might be seen as less than. Can any of them topple Week 7 of “Avatar: The Way of Water”?
The one possibility is “Infinity Pool,” Brandon Cronenberg’s follow-up to his 2020 thriller, “Possessor,” which was stymied by the shutdown of movie theaters due to Covid. This one is equally enigmatic, though it has more of a name cast, including Alexander Skarsgård (“Big Little Lies”) and Mia Goth. Skarsgård plays a writer on a luxury vacation with his wife Em (Cleopatra Coleman from “Dopesick”) who becomes involved in a fatal accident that throws him into the locale’s world of horror and violence.

Would “The Sopranos” finale have been as impactful if it hadn’t included Journey’s “Don’t Stop Believin’”? And what would “Grey’s Anatomy” be without its frequent use of the Snow Patrol song “Chasing Cars”? These and many more unforgettable musical TV moments all occurred before the establishment of the Best Music Supervision Emmy category. Since 2017, the award has served the purpose of honoring the people who enhance TV shows by incorporating existing songs into episodes and thus stirring up viewers’ emotions.

Law & Order Season 21 closes out with a case that’s going to cause some tension in both the NYPD and Da’s office. In “Black and Blue,” the murder of an off-duty NYPD detective threatens to tear the city apart. Cosgrove (Jeffrey Donovan) mourns the loss of a friend and asks Capt. Benson (Svu‘s Mariska Hargitay) for help solving the case. Meanwhile, in the Da’s office, McCoy (Sam Waterston) and Price (Hugh Dancy) disagree on how to prosecute the culprit, sparking sharp condemnation from all sides. Odelya Halevi, who plays Ada Samantha Maroun, teases the finale and shares hopes for Season 22. Last week’s episode was a complicated one for Maroun with the prescription for Wyatt. Talk about that decision. Could it affect her in a significant way going forward? Odelya Halevi: I think she got really lucky. She was pretty nervous that it’s going to come out.

This article contains spoilers for Better Call Saul season 6 episode 5.
Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul are both known for their fine-tuned attention to detail. This means that the plotting of both shows can be meticulous, but also produce a big pay-off in the end. The lead up to the explosive climax is typically filled with plenty of key turning points, though. These are the moments that the audience marks in their head and says, “this is going to be instrumental in what happens down the road.”
It took nearly the entire five seasons of Breaking Bad for Hank Schrader (Dean Norris) to finally put together the Heisenberg puzzle. All the way through, there were moments where both the viewer and Hank started to think about the possibility of Walter White (Bryan Cranston) being New Mexico’s newest drug lord. This article contains spoilers for Better Call Saul season 6.
Through five seasons and some change combined on Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul, iconic villain Gustavo “Gus” Fring (Giancarlo Esposito) is notable for always keeping his cards close to the vest.
The fast food chicken magnate and regional meth lord very rarely shows any kind of emotion or realization across his stoic face. And that just makes the moments in which he does all the more significant. One such moment comes midway through Better Call Saul season 6’s most recent episode, “Black and Blue”.

‘Better Call Saul’ Review: In ‘Black and Blue,’ Everyone Has to Face the Worst Version of Themselves
[Editor’s Note: The following review contains spoilers for “Better Call Saul” Season 6, Episode 5, “Black and Blue.”]
One chair isn’t going to cut it.
Though, to be fair to Kim (Rhea Seehorn), it’s the kind of thing that’s worked in the past for her and Jimmy (Bob Odenkirk). The name changes, the career changes, and the last-second strokes of genius have all been temporary fixes to head off the worst that’s coming their way.
After plenty of moments tracking Jimmy lying awake, unsure of what’s coming next, “Better Call Saul” shows Kim pacing around the living room, hoping that a 2 Am cigarette will do more than the piece of furniture shoved in the door to fend off anyone seeking revenge. Jimmy may be the one who’s already changed his name, but Kim is the one who’s fully processing the fundamental change that his choice to be a “friend of the cartel” is...

Oh yes, we're wading into controversial waters with this one, but it is what it is.
With Chicago Pd on a hiatus, it prompts one to reflect on the first half of the season, and with that comes a nagging issue that's been consistent within the series but especially evident this season.
We, better than anyone, are perfectly aware of Upstead's popularity and its passionate, rabid fanbase within Chicago Pd's fandom, so it wouldn't be a shock if they are sharpening the pitchforks at this very second.
Nevertheless, one will forge ahead and say that Chicago Pd has become way too invested in this romantic relationship and partnership. At times, it's to the detriment of the series.

U.K. broadcaster ITV is making key changes to its pre-9pm schedule, including extending the evening news and putting its two biggest soaps, “Coronation Street” and “Emmerdale,” back to back.
Presented by Mary Nightingale (pictured above), ITV’s evening news programme is being extended from 30 minutes to an hour with plans to focus more on reporting outside of London, reflecting what is happening across the country rather than just its capital.
