Abstract

Analog IC is an integrated circuit consisting of passive components (e.g., resistors, capacitors, inductors) and active devices (e.g., diodes and transistors) to generate, amplify, filter, operate, convert, transmit, or process analog signals. The main basic units of analog ICs include single-stage amplifiers, filters, feedback circuits, current mirror circuits, etc. An advanced analog IC design topic can be extended to analog-mixed signal (AMS) that is remained for further reading.

The basic unit circuits include bandgap reference circuits, operational amplifiers, filters, analog-to-digital converters, and digital-to-analog converters. The design of analog IC involves multiple factors and requires a trade-off between factors such as speed, power consumption, gain, accuracy, power supply voltage, and so on. Also, it is very important to consider the influence of noise, crosstalk, temperature, and other interferences on the circuit performance when performing the analog circuit design.
