Gas Sensors for Measuring the Concentration of Harmful Substances: Application Features

  • Published:
Measurement Techniques Aims and scope

The advantages and disadvantages of gas sensors for measuring the content of toxic substances in work zone air are reviewed. The main standards and normative documents outlining the requirements for the instrumentation for measuring the content of harmful substances in work zone air are considered. Experimental setup for investigating the characteristics of amperometric sensors, measurement procedure and experimental results are described. Comparative analysis of the characteristics of sensors produced by various manufacturers are presented. Recommendations are given on the practical use of the obtained data for developing measuring instruments satisfying the requirements of the domestic regulations.
