ЕВГЕНИЯ ✨ШВЕЙНЫЙ БЛОГ on Instagram: "How to Tell the Difference Between Woven and Knitted Elastic – and When to Use Each? 🤔 Here are the key differences: 1️⃣ Knitted elastic – soft, stretches easily, and snaps back into shape. Perfect for comfort: soft waistbands, cuffs, and underwear. 2️⃣ Woven elastic – firmer, holds its shape, and won’t twist inside the waistband. Ideal for pants, skirts with structured waistbands, and sportswear. Watch how they stretch so you’ll know exactly which one to use! 🔥 #sewingtips #sewinghacks #sewingforbeginners #elasticband #sewingprojects #sewingtutorial #diysewing #sewingcommunity #learntosew #sewist #fashionsewing #handmadewardrobe #sewingpattern #sewingeasy #sewingideas #seweeasy"

𝐬𝐚𝐝 𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐭𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐬 𝐬♡𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐭𝐲 on Instagram: "MORE TIPS: 1. don’t use this method on a precut pattern piece that has to be gathered to fit a specific measurement or other pattern piece. you cannot adjust later because these stitches lock in your gathers! It’s much better for creating topical ruffles and trims, a gathered skirt that you cut to size after, etc! 2. play around with the settings! these attachments usually have a screw that will increase or decrease the depth of the fabric that gets pushed under. you can also experiment with how modifying stitch length will change your results! 3. If you want to use a nylon tulle with your ruffler, you’ll want to pick up some cotton coated polyester thread. it should be labeled as a quilting thread. the reason behind this is very c
Becker’s Dry Goods on Instagram: "Yes, you can find these on my website beckersdrygoods.com, or you can make them yourself. If you make them yourself, old sheets, pajama pants, or other flannel material will do the job quite nicely 😊 1. Source your flannel and cut them into whatever size works best for you. I like mine at 10x12”. 2. Sew around the edges to help prevent fraying. I use a serger but you can use a zigzag stitch on a regular sewing machine. 3. If you are using a zigzag stitch on a sewing machine, make sure you backstitch so it does not come undone. Because I overlap my beginning and ending stitches by 1/2” or more, my serged stitches don’t come undone. 4. Wash and dry your new towels with a load of laundry you were already going to wash. Skip the fabric softener, it on
✿ SEWING PATTERNS | RENTAL DRESSES ✿ on Instagram: "The French seam is an absolute gem, especially if you don’t have an overlocker! It’s perfect for straight seams and keeps your projects looking beautifully tidy, inside and out. Honestly, it’s one of my favorite finishes—even though I have an overlocker, I still use it often! If you’re just starting out on your sewing journey, I hope this tutorial gives you the confidence to try it out. A clean finish can make any garment feel more polished and wearable, even when it’s just for you. Happy sewing—you’ve got this!"

Danesha | Sewing & Fashion on Instagram: "An easy hack to keep your straps up! — You know me…quick and to the point! So I noticed that my ready to wear dress had elastic in the straps so I decided to record how I added elastic into my straps on my Juliana dress. I then went on to keep working on my dress and accidentally scrolled to far and noticed that @coraline.street included this hack in her pattern! lol so now you have a visual aid here and written directions if you buy the Juliana corset dress! This can be done on any dress with straps and any size elastic. 🫶🏾"

Mset Fashion Design on Instagram: "How to end a stitch: Read below 👇 Complete your final stitch and bring the needle to the WRONG SIDE of the fabric. On the wrong side, pass the needle through the last stitch you made to create a small loop, and then pass the needle through the loop to form the first knot. Pull it tight to secure it. Create a second knot by forming another small loop and passing the needle through it, then pulling it tight. Once you're sure the knots are secure, trim any excess thread. 🫶🪡✨ #sewinginstagram #handstitching #sewingforbeginners #fashiondesigner"
