Ming Zhong, MD

Dr. Ming Zhong, MD, is an assistant professor of Department of Critical Care Medicine of Zhongshan Hospital, Fudan University at Shanghai of China.

He has served as an intensivist since graduation from Shanghai Medical College of Fudan University with bachelor’s degree of clinical medicine in 2001. He obtained a doctor’s degree of anesthesiology of Fudan University in 2011. At present, he is a committee member of Young Committee of China Critical Care Association. He has finished all courses for certified nutritionist as a member of European Society of Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition.

Dr Zhong’s current clinical/translational research focus is the hemodynamic monitors in shocks, pathogenesis and treatment of ARDS, extracorporeal life support for severe cardiac and respiratory failure, clinical nutrition for critically ill, coagulopathy in sepsis. He reported the first case of successful resuscitation with ECMO in a post-surgery patient with massive pulmonary embolism in 2012. His groundbreaking utilization of protective ventilation in anesthesia for esophagectomy significantly attenuated postoperative inflammation of lungs, which was orally presented at the 93th AATS annual meeting.

He has published more than 20 papers, including 6 papers in SCI journals. He is also a reviewer for the journal of Shanghai Medicine.
