Position Overview
| Primary Purpose of Position | Works in partnership with the Extension Specialist in 4-H STEM to provide educational leadership in developing, implementing, and evaluating research-based, integrated statewide Extension programs designed to meet the needs of limited-resource and socially disadvantaged audiences. Provides training and educational support to field staff and their clients in 4-H STEM, aligning with the philosophy, policies, mission, goals, and educational objectives of North Carolina A&T Cooperative Extension. This role focuses on coordinating and developing youth programs within a designated cluster of counties (Avery, Mitchell, Yancey, Watauga, Wilkes, and Caldwell) to enhance skills and competencies in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM). These programs are delivered in community-based settings through the 4-H program and partnerships across the state. Additionally, this position collaborates with other Area Specialized Agents on regional and statewide 4-H initiatives and programs. The position is based in Avery County. |
