How to use pliers to shape bezel wire

Many jewellers will shape the bezel wire for these by wrapping it directly around the stone, but you can get a more precise and even result by using pliers to help. Round nose pliers are great for defining points and corners, whilst flat pliers can help with really sharp angles and smoothing the wire along the edges. And half-round pliers are not only useful for shaping curves, but you can also use them to gently stretch or expand a tight bezel by squeezing the wire until you get the fit you need.
